Welcome to 2024!
The 3's Played a game where Queen Elsa (from Frozen) froze us like different things!
Elsa says "Freeze like a giraffe!"
The chapel was decorated with lots of little snowflakes for this game. Everyone got to choose one to take home :-)
This is the wand that I was using. It has a little Elsa and Anna in it. They were pretty excited to take a look!
Elsa says "Freeze like a dog!"
Nice work 3's friends!
This month our older classes learned how to do "Snowga" (winter themed yoga poses).
4's Class
Now we are pretending to snowboard..... We went over a few "big jumps"
For this pose we are pretending our yoga mats are sleds. I have the kids lean to the right, left, back, and forward.
3's Class
When the kiddos came to the chapel there was something on each mat. Some mats had yoga poses and some mats had breathing activities. I called the friends up one at a time and had them bring what was on their mat. This was a fun way to practice all the snowga moves.
Silas, Riley, and Emerson are doing the "snowy tree pose"
Kavan was super excited he had the breathing ball!
Magdelena and Emerson are doing the "ice skater" pose. Way to go ladies!
The 4's class played a game with indoor snowballs. I introduced them to a new word Compliment. The kiddos had to toss a snowball to a friend and say something nice about that person (a compliment). After a couple minutes there was a flurry of kind words and snowballs all around! It was a blast!
I tossed the animal movement dice around a few times and we had a blast trying some of the silly actions.
2's Friends
These are some of our "Arctic Animal" actions.....here we are howling like wolves...
We also like to "wave hello" with our feet, elbows, hair, nose etc.
All the classes had fun with their wax paper "ice skating!"
I showed several pictures of ice skates, safety equipment, and different people ice skating. We pretended to put on helmets, elbow pads, and knee pads before we got started :-)
2's Class
Maya was the 1st friend to try
They thought this was so funny!
Way to go Marlow!
Miss Ema and Miss Emilee wanted to try too!
3's Class
Nice ice skating stride Ellie!
Q is balancing on his "skates"
Great work 3's class :-)
The 4's
The class was trying to be so careful. I reminded them a couple times that we had our "safety gear" on!
A couple friends decided to try the "skates" on their hands. I love the creativity!
The infants had fun playing with wax paper
Iris was excited to touch it!
Toddler "Ice Skating" (wax paper exploration)
We discovered that the wax paper is slippery on our feet and hands!
The wax paper makes a cool sound when its crinkled....
The 2's got a turn to practice with the breathing stars
Aurora liked checking out all the arctic animals :-)
