I was so excited to do Mindful Moments this week. We tried some new breathing exercises and arctic animal poses. :-)
4's class!
The 4's class is trying one of the new breathing exercises.....
This one is called "Hot Chocolate" We pretended to hold a cup of hot chocolate and smell it and blow on it to cool it off. It was a cool exercise in mindfulness.
First we tried the arctic hare pose. I showed them how to do bunny breaths with it too.
I had the class slowly turn their heads from side to side to give our neck a nice stretch :-)
Next we tried the snow goose pose...It was a little tricky to figure out how to get one leg in front and one leg behind...But we did it! Sadie is really extending her back leg!
Next we curled up in a little ball for the lemming pose...They said the lemming looked like Anson :-)
This is the moose pose. Nice antlers Ryan!
Addie and Margaret are showing off their large antlers!
I think Sawyer and Isaac are doing a little moose breathing :-)
This is the whale pose...it works your chest and back muscles :-) Nice job Harper!
Nice walrus pose Sophia, Quinn, and Remington! :-)
Campbell tried the walrus pose and decided to lift her feet too! Way to go!
What a good workout friends!
The toddlers had some fun! It's been a while but a few of them said "yoga yoga" when I came to the room...It was so sweet :-)
First everyone found a mat :-)
Noah was stretching his arms :-)
Great twisting Beckett!
Nice stretching Rowan :-)
Hope is reaching her toes :-)
Sophie likes how the mat feels.....
Matai has a lovely smile!
Miss Kayla is helping Lucas do "so big" :-)
Way to go Pema!
Anna was so giggly :-)
The 2's class wanted to try the hot chocolate breathing too :-)
Good breathing Story :-)
This is the walrus pose...I showed the kiddos a picture of a walrus laying down on the snow. I asked if we can try to lay down just like the walrus :-)
Piper is giving her arms a nice workout in this pose!
Jacob, Hendrik. Lyla, are crawling like polar bears :-)
We also tried swimming like a whale :-)
Jacob and Lilly are are trying some bunny breathing with me :-)
We ended our yoga time by resting like baby seals :-)
3's Room
"Imagine you are holding a cup of hot chocolate and it is much too hot."
Zander is really focusing on cooling off his hot chocolate :-)
Next we did one more big breath to make sure we were ready for yoga....
The first pose we tried was the lemming pose. I told the class to make themselves as small as they can and curl up in a little ball.
Next is was time to try the whale pose. Greta and Lucy were really getting into it!
Look at all the little whales :-)
This is the moose pose. We are pretending our fingers are the antlers :-)
"Say Moose!"
After that, we practiced the walrus pose...you can really feel it in your abdominal, chest, back, and arm muscles. :-)
This is the arctic fox pose. We slowly turned our heads from side to side for a nice neck stretch.
We ended with some fun polar bear crawling :-)
Only 2 friends were awake in the nursery. We decided to have some fun!
Hi Leah :-)
So big!
